two separately managed subsidiary companies: Hamilton
Beach Brands
("Hamilton Beach") and Kitchen
Collection ("KCI")
Complementary Operations
While operations of Hamilton Beach and KCI are separate, certain aspects of their
businesses are complementary
- Hamilton Beach has a deep understanding of consumer preferences
and product trends within the small electric kitchen and
household appliance marketplace
- KCI understands the logic and criteria used by retailers
in allocating limited shelf space among competing housewares
products, brands and vendors
- KCI carries a broad range of Hamilton Beach electric products
- KCI also licenses the Hamilton Beach®
and Proctor Silex®
brand names for use on non-electric products from kitchen
gadgets to cookware
- KCI purchases overstocked merchandise from Hamilton Beach
- Helps KCI offer a steady stream of higher-value products
to its customers
- Helps Hamilton Beach maintain reduced inventory and debt levels
